ABSTRACT:
Simple, sensitive and specific spectrophotometric method was developed and validated for quantization of Flupenthixol HCl (FLU) and Melitracen HCl (MEL) in tablet dosage form. The new analytical method wad developed based on the simultaneous estimation of drugs in a binary mixture without previous separation. In graphical absorption ratio method was performed by absorbance at 283.60 nm and 229.40nm. Both the drugs FLU and MEL and its mixture follow beer-lambert’s law in the range of 2 -10 µg/ml at all the selected wavelength. The percent estimation of mix drug in laboratory mixture was done to be 99.99+ 1.078 and 99.63 + 0.2038 for FLU and MEL respectively. The percent drug estimation in marketed formulation was found to be 99.96+ 0.4340 and 99.90 +0.1076. The average percent recovery was found to be 99.98+0.43and 99.91+0.10. The result of the method lies with in the prescribe limit of 98-102% shows that method is free form interference from excipients.
