ABSTRACT:
1-(4-Hydrozinophenyl) methyl-1, 2, 4-triazole dihydrochloride (HPT) is an intermediate for synthesis of Rizatriptan. A stability indicating Reverse Phase Ultra High Pressure Liquid Chromatographic (RP-UPLC) method has been developed for the determination of 1-(4-Hydrozinophenyl) methyl-1, 2, 4-triazole Dihydrochloride and its related compounds. The stability-indicating capability of this method has been demonstrated by adequate separation of the degradation products from HPT in stress degraded samples. The separation was achieved on kinetex 1.7 XB-C 18 100 A 50 X 2.1 mm column. The gradient mobile phase consisted mobile phase A 0.01 M potassium dihydrogen phosphate buffer pH 4.5 (adjusted with Orthophosphoric acid) and mobile phase B acetonitrile & methanol in the ratio 80: 20. The method has been demonstrated to be specific, accurate, linear, precise, robust and therefore suitable for routine analysis of HPT.
