ABSTRACT:
A variety of a-bromoketones undergoes smooth condensation with thiourea compounds to afford the corresponding substituted thiazole derivatives in very good to excellent yields. The condensation reactions were carried out in presence of cadmium chloride in acetonitrile at room temperature.
