ABSTRACT:
Water soluble chitosan (WSC) was synthesized by using acetic anhydride and chitosan derived from prawn shells under an alkali catalytic condition. The formation of water soluble product was determined and confirmed by FTIR analysis and its solubility in water. This derivative of chitosan is then applied in the wet wipes formulation as a cleansing wipe. The sensory analysis of wet wipe formulation containing water soluble chitosan shows the enhanced performance characteristics of perfume ingredients in terms of hedonic and intensity scale.
